This is the 6th edition of the Stav Church Christmas Ornaments and features the Trondheim Stav Church in Trondelag, Norway. The church was originally a Viking temple before being converted to a church around 1047, making it one of the oldest surviving structures in Trondheim.
Despite the church's age, the four columns that support the nave, the main portal and many of the nave timbers are original. Based on their construction and configuration, historians believe that the original structure was rectangular and served as a place for Viking chiefs to come and offer sacrifices for success in their endeavors.
Each Limited Edition Ornament is made on a 2.5" flat porcelain disk and hand decorated in delicate Scandinavian Blue and White.
