This is the 7th edition of the Stav Church Christmas Ornaments and features the Ringebu Stav Church, built in the Gulbrandsdal Valley in the year 1200. It stands atop a hillside, giving it a commanding view of the valley below.
The Ringebu church has always been the parish church and local government center. It is located in a very prosperous area, and as a result has never fallen into neglect. Famous architects and artists have worked on the church. These include Werner Olsen, who extended the church's design in the 1600's, and Lars Jensen Borg, who raised and carved the pulpit in 1703.
Each Limited Edition Ornament is made on a 2.5" flat porcelain disk and hand decorated in delicate Scandinavian Blue and White.
