In 2004, Norse Traditions released the 13th edition of the Stav Church Christmas Ornaments. This one features the Nore Stav Church, located in Numedal, Norway and built in the late 1100's. It's one of the earliest churches to evolve from the simple "Nave" style to the Cruciform, and is one of the few Stav churches to retain its original central column.
The Nore church also boasts several different styles of decorations from different periods. Several animals including dragons and lions have been carved into the wood, as well as several tendrils. The interior contains several murals, most notably scenes from the Bible presented as riddles.
Each Limited Edition Ornament is made on a 2.5" flat porcelain disk and hand decorated in delicate Scandinavian Blue and White.
