This marks the sixteenth year for the Stav Christmas Ornament. This year's collectible features the church at Kaupanger in Sogn, Norway, which was built in the late 1100's. It is the largest Stav church in the Sogn Valley, and one of the best examples of the "Masted Basilica Style" churches to survive. The church has been rebuilt/renovated three times, each time becoming larger and more ornate. The Kaupanger church has been used continually since it was first built, and it is still used as the local parish church today.
