This Stav Chuch Christmas ornament was made in 2014, making it the 23rd edition. This ornament features the Rollag, a church that overlooks the nearby valley and river in Numedal. Dating its origins is almost impossible since very little remains of the original structure, but it was probably built in the last half of the 12th century. Only the four large nave corner posts with their unusually high bases and fragments of the nave walls remain.
Each of these limited edition ornaments is made on a 2.5" flat porcelain disk and hand decorated in delicate Scandinavian blue and white.
