Dale of Norway - 1994 Women’s Sweater
Peacock/Navy/Light Purple (95881-G00)
Details:
The 1994 women's sweater is the modern take on a classic design from Dale of Norway's archives. 1994 has a new and feminine loose cut with a drop back hem. It is a mid weight sweater in 100% wool with a drop sleeve (or T-sleeve) and a low profile round neckline.
Design Notes:
1994 women's sweater is a refreshing update to one of Dale's most popular sweaters ever, the official Olympic sweater from the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. While the shape has been updated, the pattern remains more or less unchanged from the original: consisting of symbols and figures from Norse mythology.
~ Frøya, the goddess of love and fertility, with the ability to foresee the future.
~ Odin, the most powerful and wisest of the gods. He is riding Sleipner, the fastest horse in the world.
~ Two ravens, Hugin and Munin, symbolizing thought and recollection, one pointing forward, the other backwards.
~ Yggdrasil, the evergreen world tree, keeping the world up, with branches reaching to the sky and roots stretching down into the underworld.
