A Nordic-style pair of socks featuring a pattern from the abundant Dale of Norway archives. The Bjoroy crew socks are made from the finest traceable merino wool - a fiber that offers natural moisture management with superior insulation and breathability. The socks feature reinforced arch supports, comfort padding, and a seamless toe construction for incredible comfort and unmatched durability..
Made with Nativa™ sourced merino wool. Nativa™ is a fully traceable supply chain that follows the wool’s journey from the farm to the consumer. While the high content of merino wool grants moisture absorption and warmth, the polyamide and elastane add excellent shape retention and durability properties.
Design Notes:
The Bjoroy pattern is taken from the famous Norwegian Sotra sweater, easily recognizable with a pattern of repeated eight-petal roses across. The original Sotra sweater was part of the Dale of Norway collection in the early 1990s. The original Sotra sweater originates from the Sotra island, west of Bergen, exposed to the harsh weather from the North Sea. On this island a variation of the eight-petal rose pattern emerged: The roses are separated by diagonal lines on a contrasting background, giving an intricate geometrical pattern. It is believed that the eight petal rose came to the island around 1850, introduced by traders and sailors from the Hardanger region. These socks are named after Bjorøy, a small island in the same archipelago as the Sotra island.
