The Vail Windstopper Hoodie is a loose fitting outer layer, knit with 100% Norwegian wool - treated to be water repellent, and lined with a breathable windproof liner. Other notable features include: a half zip neck opening, two zippered front pockets, a roomy drawstring hood (lined with skin-soft merino wool for comfort), and a draw-cord in the hemline to keep the breeze out. A perfect companion for the great outdoors.
Design Notes:
The design for this windstopper hoodie is from the official team sweater for the US Alpine- and Snowboard team during the 2006-07 season. It is an outer layer interpretation of a bestselling sweater ~ the Vail sweater. The Vail pattern was originally designed for the Alpine World Championships in Vail, Colorado.
The Vail hoodie is made with Norwegian wool, one of the world’s most animal-friendly textile fibers. Dale of Norway's wool comes from sheep known for roaming freely in the vast Norwegian hillsides while grazing in natural pastures. This yarn offers an authentic look renowned for its uniquely crisp look and longevity.
Technical Specs:
The wool in this garment is treated for enhanced water and dirt resistance (PFOA-free and complies with the EU REACH regulation). The wool shell combined with the breathable windproof lining achieve a waterproof rating of 8000mm. **Note: Garment seams are not taped and therefore it is regarded as water resistant, not waterproof.
