Iva's Krumkakke Recipe
Krumkakke are a thin, crispy, and intricately imprinted Scandinavian waffle shaped cookie with a hint of cardamon. These crispy cones can be eaten alone, or filled with flavored cream or dipped in chocolate to serve. This is a great cookie to make with a friend, one bake and one roll and stack. We can turn out 144 while watching a movie together.
Recipe:
4 Eggs
1C Sugar
1tsp Vanilla
1/2 tsp Ground Cardamon
1/2C Butter, melted and cooled
1C Flour
1/4C Cornstarch

• Beat Eggs & Sugar for 10 min
• Add Vanilla and Cardamon, combine
• Fold in cooled Butter, Flour, & Cornstarch

• Roll Krumkakke straight from baker, let Krumkakke cool for a minute on Krumkakke Roller then remove.
History:
The word Krumkakke translates to “turned cake” as the cookies are rolled into a traditional cone shape. Krumkakke Irons first showed up in Norway in the early 1700’s. They were made by local blacksmiths who inscribed intricate designs into their work and many bear the initials of the smith. These were made to go over open fires and had long handles. Over the years the Krumkakke Iron has evolved to the current version that can make 2 Krumkakke at a time. They are electric and thermostatically controlled for even heat making baking much simpler. They still are inscribed with intricate designs and come with a wooden roller for ease of use.
