Royal Copenhagen - 2024 Plaquette
Birds in the Snow
The 2024 Blue Collectibles Plaquette marks the 40th anniversary of the darling little plate, the first of its kind being issued in 1984. Every year, a new motif for the plaquette is designed, this year portraying two birds in a snowy, starlit landscape. The motif is designed by Dag Samsund.
- The Three Waves
- Proposed as The Royal Danish Porcelain Factory trademark in 1775 by Queen dowager Juliane Marie, every piece of Royal Copenhagen porcelain is instantly recognised by the three blue waves on its underside symbolising the Sound, the Great Belt and the Little Belt - the three main waterways of Denmark.
- Discover this year’s Blue Collectibles and mark the special holidays and occasions of the year. Each year, every piece receives a new style in the same blue under glazing used since the introduction of the very first Christmas plate in 1895.
