Dale of Norway has a long tradition of producing World Ski Championships Sweaters since 1956. There have been 18 winter Olympic sweaters and countless World Championships sweaters designed by Dale.

These special-edition sweaters have been a testament to the Norwegian national sport of skiing. And now, much to everyone’s excitement, the official sweater for the 2025 Ski World Championships in Trondheim, Norway, has been released.

According to the Dale of Norway website, the 2025 Ski World Championships event “isn’t just about competition, it’s about celebrating the values of community, inclusion, and equality.”

At the heart of the campaign is the Norwegian slogan, “Vi er alle samme ulla,” a Norwegian idiom that literally translates to “We are all the same wool,” but on a figurative level means, “We’re all cut from the same cloth,” which underlines our inherent similarities and shared human qualities across race, ethnicity, nationalities, and cultures.

The Special Edition Dale of Norway Sweater is the official sweater for the 2025 Ski World Championships in Trondheim, Norway. It is a classic Norwegian sport sweater with a distinctive retro vibe. The pattern is inspired by the Trondheim Games theme of inclusion, while drawing motifs from historical and cultural landmarks in Trondheim. The sweater is knit from 100% medium weight sport wool known for its high durability and warmth.  It features a 1/4 zip neck for comfort.

The Trondheim World Championship sweater is full of exciting details drawn from both old and more recent history. The classic eight-petal Norwegian rose is centered on the front of the sweater. On the left side , you’ll find a ship symbolizing Trondheim as a maritime city, a stylized excerpt from a stained glass window in the Nidaros Cathedral, and (on sweaters in the largest sizes) a stylized version of a boat with oars seen from above. On the right side, there’s a stylized version of Trondheim’s municipal coat of arms, followed by the stained glass and boat with oars from the left side.

The Trondheim World Championship logo which was inspired by thousands of submitted children’s drawings depicting people holding hands. Additionally, the stylized versions of stained glass from Nidaros Cathedral and the boat with oars are also displayed here.  On the sleeves, you’ll also find a Valknut, a symbol that was used in ancient times as protection against evil forces and meant to give strength and courage. Centered in the front is the traditional Norwegian Eight Point Rose synonymous with both Dale and Norway.

The design inspiration was conceived by Pernile Døsvik and Mushaga Bakenga, and brought to life by the talented design team at Dale.

Permile Døsvik, a student at the Norwegian Institute of Science and Technology (NTNU), has a strong love for the outdoors and an active lifestyle. Known for her connection to the skiing community through her partner, cross-country skier Johannes Høsflot Klæbo.

Mushaga Bakenga is a Norwegian soccer player known for his performances both on and off the field. In 2023, he was named “Trønder of the Year” for his dedication to promoting inclusion and equality in his hometown of Trondheim.
